Tips and Tricks for Choosing the Right Fitness Legging
When you are shopping for any garment, finding the right size and fit is important. This is especially true if you are looking for a new piece of fitness legging. Whether you're planning to include them as part of your everyday outfit this fall, or you're looking for fitness legging for your workouts, you need shoes that provide ample coverage without compromising freedom of movement.
1. Choose fitness legging from normal pants size
Fitness legging will not be the same size as regular pants. But your pants size is still a good starting point. If your pants are usually small or extra small, you probably don't need oversized fitness legging. However, the size format may vary, with US brands in inches and EU companies in centimeters. The easiest way to clear up all the confusion is to look up international size conversion tables. Most brands that sell high waisted fitness leggings online usually post a size chart or guide somewhere on their website. You may also find them embedded directly in their product pages.
2. Choose fitness legging to measure yourself
Now that you have a rough idea of the dimensions of your fitness legging, the next step is to further downsize by taking some measurements. First, measure your waistline. Use a tape measure to wrap it around the smallest part of your waist, just above or on your belly button. Next, measure your hips. Standing with your feet together, wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips, just below your hip bones and around your hips. Finally, measure your inseam, also known as length. Run the tape measure along the inner thigh, from the end of the crotch to the bottom of the ankle bone. Alternatively, you may also want to measure the circumference of your thigh. If you find that one thigh is larger than the other, you will want to buy a fitness legging like peach bum leggings one size larger to be on the safe side.
3. Choose elastic fabric for fitness legging
Stretch fabrics come in two styles: two-way stretch and four-way stretch. Stretch fitness legging will be looser and smaller in size while giving you complete freedom of movement. Checking the crotch area of a fitness legging is another way to tell if it's the wrong size and fits you. If you see too much fabric buildup there when you put it on, it means the leggings are too loose and you should downsize. On the other hand, if you can see the outline of the camel toes in this area, they are overstretched and too tight against the crotch. In this case, you should definitely go up a size or two at least. Fitness leggings also shouldn't be pinched or pulled, whether you're just walking in them or doing yoga poses.
